Cardiff City’s vagrant stiker Jon Parkin has again been farmed out on loan, after yesterday securing a 2 month loan spoell with Scunthorpe United. Parkin has only been with the Bluebirds a year, but now seems a reckless panic buy by Dave Jones having barely featured for either him or new boss Malky Mackay.

Parkin is a larger-than-life character, and popular within the dressing room. The lack of football has surely got to him, but while his future at Cardiff City looks all but over – no move away has been forthcoming. The Bluebirds have sought to arrange loans for him closer to his Barnsley based family and young son – but a permanent move would surely be preferable for all parties.

So far in his 12 month Bluebirds career, he has played for Doncaster and Huddersfield Town on loan having spend time previously with 7 other clubs such as Stoke City, Presrton North End and hometown club Barnsley.

‘Big Jon’ is capable of being a very valuable asset in league one, or a decent option in the Championship. However, he clearly doesn’t fit Malky Mackay’s plans and would remain behind Miller, Gestede, Mason and Earnshaw in competing for the lone frontman role in the current system.
