Craig Noone has said he’s obviously delighted to have come off the bench today and secured Cardiff a point in the draw against Fulham.

Trailing in the game despite our overall control and dominance of chances, the winger came on and changed our fortunes with his curling long range effort four minutes from time and he told the Official Site that he thought he’d wasted the opportunity until it dipped right at the end.

‘I was delighted to come on and score, it was great to get a goal. I thought it might have been sneaking over but it has just dipped at the last minute and luckily it went in. I think it was massive. We deserved it. The first goal was disappointing but we will all get behind Simon now. We are all in this together and we are happy about the result. I`m sure Simon will pick his head up and he`ll be fine. He`s a great goalkeeper and he puts in everything. He`s a hard worker and I`m sure he`ll be fine.’

Moving back to himself following an injury hit year in 2014-15, he said he’s feeling good and he’s in good confidence after having what he felt was a good pre season this summer so he’s hoping to play more of a part going forward and he obviously hopes his goal and performance has worked him into the starting plans of the gaffer for the second proper game of the summer.

‘It`s been a good pre-season for me and I missed the whole preseason last year. Having a full pre-season this year has definitely benefited me. It`s been well structured by the club and the fitness coaches and that`s what I have benefited from. This year I am really focussed on doing the best I can. Individually I am going to try and improve performances and chip in with goals and assists. I`m determined to do better.’

As for Cardiff overall, the hope is to have a better campaign following the disappointments of relegation and then our form last season as well.

‘Last season was disappointing but that`s gone now. We have come back into pre-season and we have all been focussed and determined to do well this season and that`s what we are going to aim to do.’
