Cardiff City turned down the chance to sign Welsh International Freddy Eastwood earlier this summer with the Wolves player publicly stating he wanted a move to the Bluebirds.
Dave Jones admitted Eastwood had been a target but rejected a move insisting the Bluebirds were going to sign a ‘better quality of player’. Now Eastwood has finally completed his on/off switch to Coventry City and joins the long list of strikers missed out on.
Whether we can get better or not, Eastwood is a proven goalscorer, young and hungry to get his career back on track. Unless Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale can get someone of equal calibre in now – they surely look like mugs with pre-season already underway and only two recognised strikers in the entire squad – one having been on the transfer list for over a year.
To travel to the Algarve cup in theis state would be pathetic and make a mockery of all of Jones’ and Ridsdale’s public bravado. It is not yet time to panic, but expectation and optimism is draining fast from the capital. There’s just not room for two ‘Graveyards of Ambition’ in Wales.

I agree – Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale have been taken for a ride by Fowler .and are making us not only look silly but stupid in saying that we’re on line for promotion. Eastwood INVITED us to buy him – it’s now too late .. Bent MAY be available {at a hugely inflated price} from Charlton who can sell him {and were asking only £1m from Wigan at the end of last season} because they’ve signed Stuart Fleetwood who we threw away .. our Chairman and Manager are turning out to be not as clever as they wanted us to think they are .. Ched Evans is now VITAL!
