Cardiff City have taken a major step towards the controversial re-branding exercise with the removal of both the Cardiff Blues badge, and the ‘former’ CCFC club crest from the front of the stadium.

Cardiff Blues have been released from their lease, and will return to the Arms Park, in a move which paved the way for Vincent Tan’s proposed club colour switch to red – and replacment of the badge with a new design and ‘fire and passion’ slogan.

We are still relatively new in the Cardiff City Stadium, but these are major changes and until today it was the former era’s badges which adorned the CCS – visible from the road. As of today, the new CCFC only logos are on show as a clear sign of the direction in which the club is moving.

I’m sure there would be a number of willing takers for the former club crest – in the hope that it might be restored in the not too distant future…..
