Cardiff City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sean Morrison in the two nil victory over Leeds United at the weekend at Elland Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Morrison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Morrison stood tall at the back for Cardiff as he and his Cardiff team-mates claimed a clean sheet at Leeds United. The centre-back had an impact at the other end too, nodding home to put the Bluebirds on their way to a 2-0 triumph at Elland Road – the first team to win there since Newcastle in November.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Morrison for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Joe Lumley (Bristol Rovers), Mat Sadler (Shrewsbury Town), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Alex Pritchard (Norwich City), John-Joe O’Toole (Northampton Town), Aiden McGeady (Preston North End), Kevin Ellison (Morecambe), Danny Hylton (Luton Town), Tomer Hemed (Brighton).

Manager – Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).
