Midfield Share Cardiff City Goals!

Cardiff City have struggled for strikers all season – thats no secret. With Robbie Fowler out injured, there has been no natural finisher at the club.

Hasselbaink and Thompson are the two main strikers, not favoured as a partnership by Dave Jones, and both are desperately lacking goals over the season. That prompted Paul Parry’s switch to a forward position – a move that largely paid off.

With Parry out injured for the past three games, and Hasselbaink and Thompson unlikely to come up with goals – they inevitably had to come from elsewhere!

That meant the midfield, who came up with an ingenius plan to share the goals equally…

Ledley, our first choice left winger started it off with his hooked winner against Barnsley.

Next up was Gavin Rae – central midfielder workhorse, he tapped home against Ipswich Town after good Ramsey work.

We really needed a win against Blackpool to stay in the play-off hunt. Creative central midfielder Stephen McPhail scored a cracker to start it off. Regular substitute Trevor Sinclair grabbed the next before usual choice right winger Peter Whittingham finished things off with a low drive.

Thats one each for our midfield four, plus another for Trevor Sinclair in a rare start for him.

Next up is Scunthorpe United. Presumably the defenders will all now share the goals between them. Unless, heaven forbid, the strikers decide to add another feature to their game in scoring goals. Unlikely.

its very good to see our goals coming from else where than up front, but its bad when you look at the amout of goals our strikers have scored
