Cardiff City attacker Ross McCormack is looking increasingly likely to remain a Cardiff City player after the club most asiduously pursuing the Scotsman seemingly called off the chase for his signature.

Hull City were the club interested but were not happy with Cardiff City’s £5m valuation. Their interest sparked controversy after a call by McCormack to Peter Ridsdale was leaked to Sky Sports. McCormack had outlined his concerns at being marginalised behind Michael Chopra and looking destined for a season on the bench or being played out of position.

Despite obvious disappointment from supporters, McCormack was given a warm reception during the 4-0 opening day win over Scunthorpe United and responded by performing the ayatollah on request and putting in a superb performance.

What McCormack offered was 100% commitment and the unpredictability that we miss. Some excellent turns, runs and vision created a host of chances for his team and he was directly involved in the first two goals. I’m also convinced McCormack could have scored two second half goals but selflessly chose to square for Bothroyd and Chopra who hit the post and saw their effort blocked respectively.

Ross has maintained he is happy here and he and his partner have been house-hunting in Cardiff. If last Saturday’s performance is any indication – we’ll be lucky to have him, playing wide or up-front.

McCormack is a Bluebird!!!

As a football supporter in general, I hope you are able to hold onto him and see the best from him. As a Hull supporter, I still hope we get him (if not now, in Jan window).

We have calmed our interest because of Negredo for £12M, if this fails, we may return for Ross.
