McCormack Blow For Cardiff City

Cardiff City have been hit by the news that 14 goal top goalscorer Ross McCormack has suffered another hamstring injury after limping out of Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Preston North End.

mcCormack had not long since recovered from a previous hamstring pull, sustained during a 2-1 home defeat against Wolves. However, he progresed well in training and returned to the first team until this latest set-back although manager Dave Jones was quick to confirm this was a new injury and not a recurrance of the previous problem.

While the loss of McCormack is obviously a big blow, we are fortunate to have on-loan Sunderland striker Michael Chopra to call upon – the replacement scored from the spot on Saturday despite having been ill for much of the week – Chops will partner Jay Bothroyd in attack for Cardiff City tonight away at Burnley.
