I’m not sure how many more times we can wax lyrical about David Marshall? Had it not been for the Cardiff goalkeeper we’d have been confirmed as relegated weeks ago.

Once again, as he has so often this season, the Scottish international made a string of great saves to keep out Southampton and earn himself a much deserved cleansheet and us a crucial win. Cleansheets, despite his repeated best efforts, are not something he’s been able to achieve that much this season.

Reports are growing of other Premier League clubs interests in him.

Tottenham were being linked with the 29 year old recently and over the weekend reports surfaced of a West Ham United interest in him.

If we’re unable to avoid relegation from the Premier League then even though he only recently signed a new long term contract at the Cardiff City Stadium the Championship isn’t going to be the level for a player of his ability so that will mean Marshall is going to move on.

Without being disrespectful to West Ham United I’d be surprised if a club at the higher end of the Premier League wasn’t looking at him, which if they are they will be the one that secured his signature.

Should we stay up he’ll stay anyway, a win win scenario however likely that may seem.
