Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay confirmed his satisfaction after the Bluebirds recorded a 1-1 draw away at Leeds United. It could have been all three for City having led for the majority of the game but the Whites pushed strongly during the second half only to find David Marshall in fine form.

Speaking after the game, Mackay told Sky Sports:

‘It`s a good point at the end of the day. We had control of that first half, we just had to be a little bit more clever when we got back in possession.’

Cardiff City had very little joy during the second half in which Leeds controlled the play and forged the majority of chances. We fought hard, and defended strongly for much of the game, however, it was too much to hold out for the win.

An away points at Leeds United is nothing to be sniffed at. They are in good form, while the Bluebirds have been far from their best on their travels. Leeds Utd would have hoped to have won the game on the strength of their second half domination, however, after we took the lead and defended resolutely – a draw seemed a fair result.
