Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley looks set to be stand-in captain again this weekend when Premiership title hopefuls Arsenal visit Ninian park in the 4th round of the FA Cup. The Welshman is a previous transfer target for the Gunners although Arsene Wenger has never made an official approach.

Ledley is revelling in a more central role lately after replacing the out-of-form Stephen McPhail, the Bluebirds are unbeaten since that change and under Ledley’s stewardship. The Fairwater-born midfielder told BBC Sport:

We can’t wait to play Arsenal. We are unbeaten in 10 games and the boys are flying and confidence is high.’

‘We will be trying to win against Arsenal.’

Cardiff City can take heart from their previous FA Cup meeting with Arsenal where Cameron Jerome scored in a 2-1 defeat for City at Highbury. This time we are undoubtedly stronger, whereas Arsenal are debatably weaker…

I’m a Gooner and I would say its sure to be a close game. Cardiff are looking strong but dont forget Arsenal are unbeaten in 8 as well. It may come down to a ref decision or a cracking goal on the day.
