Cardiff City’s inspirational midfielder Joe Ledley looks likely to be missing first team action after tweaking his hamstring during last night’s 0-0 draw at Coventry City.

Ledley hobbled off after stretching his groin midway through the second half. The full extent is not yet knowm, with the Welshman set to undergo scans today. Hopefully he just overstretched and a weeks rest would see the January player of the month back to full fitness and action for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

However, if Ledley has pulled his hamstring, he would be facing anything between 3-6 weeks on the sidelines – a massive blow to Cardiff City.

Peter Whittingham could play on the left, while Parry or Sinclair lines up on the right. However, teenage midfielder Aaron Ramsey was effective on the flank after switching when McPhail replaced Ledley.

Although Ledley was clearly in some discomfort, hopefully he will be out for the minimum amount of time and will come back refreshed and able to continue his fine personal form.
