Former Cardiff City favourite Joe Ledley has been named as captain of Celtic as the SPL outfit visit CCS in a friendly tonight. It’s his first visit back since leaving a year ago to join the Bhoys on a free transfer.

Midfielder Ledley was with City as a youth, and became a major part of the first team squad for many seasons. It was a somewhat bitter departure, and he felt frozen out by previous Chairman Peter Ridsdale.

It will surely be a proud moment for Ledley, born and bred in Fairwater, to lead his new team-mates out against his former and hometown club.

Mark Hudson was selected as Cardiff City captain, restored to the role after handing over the armband to Craig Bellamy last season.
