Koumas debacle update

An unwholesome slanging match has broken out between Cardiff City and West Bromich Albion over the long running Jason Koumas saga. After West Brom rejected a bid of £1 million (+500k for appearances, +500k for promotion) from Cardiff the respective Chairmen of the clubs have descended into an ugly war of words conducted between the official websites of the two clubs.

Jeremy Peace stated that: “Cardiff’s cash offer falls well below our valuation of Jason and has been immediately rejected,’

‘Cardiff have yet to meet our asking price and unless they do Jason won’t be joining them.”
‘Cardiff have known what offer we would accept for Jason for a year.
‘This was made crystal clear when Jason joined them on loan last summer and reconfirmed during talks last month.’
The Cardiff official website issued a direct response to this statement indicating that WBA were taking an unreasonable stance ending by calling the WBA actions illogical and unfair.

The CCFC statement was largely unnecessary and was clumsily worded, it seems that the message had been dictated and it seems a slightly unprofessional measure.
If things couldn`t get worse, Koumas still has not reported for training with WBA and as such is in breach of contract, Koumas is currently being fined for each day he misses, and in the worst case scenario could be sacked by WBA and his registration withheld.

Today WBA responded to the CCFC statement branding it ‘bizarre` and re-iterating their position. The statement claimed that WBA took exception to CCFC`s comments and warned that several of the issues commented on were none of Cardiff City`s business at the present time.

As things stand:
-Cardiff want Koumas
-Koumas badly wants a move to Cardiff
-WBA are holding out for a cash-up-front deal.

Pretty much as we were back in May then !!
