Cardiff City desperately need to re-enforce their goalkeeping ranks with just Irishman David Forde currently on the books.

The position was the number 1 target for Jones and he spoke to a Premiership goalie regarding a move. So far, nothing has materialised but The Bluebirds are still hoping to get their man and expect the deal to be tied up very shortly.

The situation has been ongoing for some time and it seems that Dave Jones has some difficulty in convincing the player or that he was keeping his options open.

If the signing is not announced this week, it seems likely that Jones will have to move on and pursue other targets. We cannot afford to wait around missing out on other targets only to be told ‘no thanks’ at the end (a la Chris Killen).

A multitude of names have been linked with the move, most notably Tim Krul (Newcastle United), Richard Wright (Everton) and Stuart Taylor (Aston Villa). However, Peter Ridsdale is insistent that we haven’t got the name of the Bluebirds’ actual target.

As soon as the signing is announced, read about it here on Vital Cardiff City.
