Whilst Cardiff City are chasing in demand Hartlepool United goalkeeper Dimitrios Konstantopolous, the Pools have signed up a former Cardiff City goalie as back-up and possible potential successor to Konstantopolous.

The Greek stopper is high on Cardiff’s wanted list and is available on a free transfer after rejecting Hartlepool’s offer of a new contract.

Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson meanwhile has acted swiftly to snap up a former Cardiff City goalkeeper recently released from Coventry City in Arran Lee-Barratt.

The player was only with Cardiff briefly in 2003-2004 season, making just one substitutes appearance for the Bluebirds. He was a youngster at the time, and whilst making some spectacular saves for the reserves – you never quite trusted his judgement !

Lee-Barrat has played for Cardiff, Norwich City and Coventry City before now joining Hartlepool. Cardiff are losing Neil Alexander, most likely to Norwich. While Coventry and Cardiff are fighting it out to sign Konstantopolous from Hartlepool.
