Bluebirds? manager Dave Jones watched his side destroy Stoke on Saturday then proclaimed that his side is not a one man team.

Jones singled out Darren Purse and Neil Cox for the way they performed against the Stoke front men but in general he was pleased with the whole team.

Kevin Cooper gave the Bluebirds the lead after 18 minutes and Stoke were finished off with a brace from Neil Cox, a goal in each half.

‘What won us the game was a strong defensive display by our back four and our two central defenders, Cox and Darren Purse, certainly know they have been in a battle this afternoon. Said Jones.

‘Stoke’s front men were big and strong and presented a major challenge to us but the lads held firm.

‘It was a solid performance all round by the team but it was still a hard-earned victory and a good three points for us”.

He added: ‘We missed three players out there today, not just Jason but Steve Thompson and Glenn Loovens, and we have proved today that we are not a one-man team.

‘A little gap has opened up behind us in the Championship but all we can do is keep on plugging away and getting the right results.’
