Jones’ blast at Cardiff flops

Dave Jones has hit out at some members of his squad after a dire run of form that has seen the Bluebirds lose a 6 point gap at the top of the Championship and slip down to fifth place.

Defeats by Colchester, QPR and a 4-1 mauling by relegation threatened Hull City have led Jones to lay down the law to his squad. Having performed fantastically early in the season, the recent form has been woeful and Jones is threatening to bring in many new faces in a bid to inspire his side:

‘These players have got until the transfer window opens to get back to what they were doing.’

‘Rather than look for two or three players, I might have to say I need six or seven because these aren’t doing it.’

Jones thought only 3 players took any credit from the loss to Hull, (Chris Gunter and Michael Chopra most likely to be amongst them) and whilst he has been extremely faithful to his players so far, it appears this was down to necessity due to the lack of alternatives.

Jones has a list of 40 top targets for the January transfer window and recently stated he would be happy to get two. Jones may be asking Peter Ridsdale and the new investors to dig deep come January or risk fading into mid-table mediocrity.
