A host of Premiership clubs are keen on capturing Jerome?s signature during the January transfer window, but Dave Jones today assured the Cardiff fans that Jerome is staying put.

?It wouldn’t be right for Cameron to join a Premier League club because he’s not ready,? said Jones.

‘He is a long way from the finished article and, believe me, he is going nowhere.

Jones believes that the teenager is better off staying at Cardiff for the time being. A move away from Ninian Park would spoil his development as a player. Jerome will more than likely become a fringe player if he was to move to a Premiership club at this stage in his career.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are just a few of the top clubs keeping an eye on Jerome, who has recently been called up to the England U21 squad after scoring nine goals this season.

Jones is adamant that Jerome is going nowhere.

‘I’ve read stories in newspapers saying people are coming in for him, but we want him to stay and he will be staying.’

Jerome, Loovens and Cooper are set to have late fitnes tests ahead of the match against leaders Sheffield United.

Jerome and Loovens both have back problems, and Cooper is struggling with tendinitis.

With Cardiff hoping to bounce back from the defeat against Leicester in the Carling Cup it is hoped all three players will be available.

‘I’ve got one more year left with Feyenoord, but I like Cardiff very much and I hope my future is here, I prefer the British way to the Dutch way. It’s more my style of playing and I’m really enjoying it. That’s why I made the decision to come here, because it’s more my style. I knew what British football was like because I’ve played against British teams.’
