Cardiff City fans have been hearing rumours and whispers all morning to add to the growing unease in South Wales following on from leaked club documents and an unpaid tax bill.

Prior to Christmas, CCFC agreed a re-payment package with the HMRC but failed to meet the first installment. Having defaulted on that payment, the Bluebirds now owe the full £2.7m immediately and have been issued with a further winding-up order, in direct contrast to the open and amicable discussions claimed by Peter Ridsdale.

It had been hoped that this petition, lodged on 23rd December, would have been cleared by now but it seems that the debt has still not been met to HMRCs satisfaction, and the club are due in court.

Further to this latest blow, the club are likely to have sanctions placed on us – especially in respect of transfers and the chances of the £3m raised through the ticketing initiative being spent on players now looks remote.

Further news will be released in due course, Peter Ridsdale must release a statement shortly – and he surely will. Misunderstanding? Amicable? Not this time.
