Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was relieved to have snatched the equaliser but firmly believed it was the least we deserved, he told the WoS:
“To come away with nothing would have been an injustice.”
“We should have scored a few more goals in the first half when the game was very open.”
“We had to chase the game in the second half but I thought we chased it as well as we can.”
Hull manager Phil Brown was disappointed with the late goal but was pleased with his players and optimistic for the future – he told BBC Sport:
‘We have to learn how to close down the game and they didn’t do that. It’s inexperience, simple as that.’
‘But the bottom line is that I’ve got a committed bunch of players and a hard-working team who are difficult to play against and can create chances – it’s a recipe for success.’
