Wales Online are reporting that Cardiff have received firm enquires for Peter Whittingham and Joe Mason so far this summer but the message is very simply ‘hands off’.
With Mason linked the other day with Bolton and Wolverhampton Wanderers and it was said reports suggested a £3million offer for the 24 year old player, and it now appears Whittingham has been the subject of similar interest – but manager Russell Slade isn’t looking to do business when it comes to those two in particular.
The paper seems very confident about their Cardiff futures, as they repeat a number of times that Slade sees them both as key players moving forward for us in 2015-16 and having already made good in roads into the wage bill and the squad as a group so far, he isn’t tempted to cash in on either player to help on the financial front.
We’ll have to see if those firm enquiries become tempting offers.
