Cardiff City’s defensive lynchpin Roger Johnson is back in full training but looks set to miss tomorrow’s big clash with play-off hopefuls Preston North End at Deepdale.

The fall-out from City’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace continues with Claude Davis hauled in front of an FA disciplinary panel following the nasty incident in which Roger Johnson was left spitting blood and needing a 2 night stay in hospital.

Darren Purse deputised during the 3-1 win against Burnley, he was solely responsible for Bunrley’s equaliser after gifting a goal to Robbie Blake courtesy of a woeful back-pass. That moment aside however, Purse did reasonably well and put in some towering headers for his side.

Whilst Roger is a massive loss, we are lucky to have someone like Darren Purse to call on in these circumstances and the former WBA man will see it as a final chance to earn the contract extension he desperately wants.
