Fowler Rejects Cardiff City For Blackburn Rovers

Instead of adding another striker to the squad, Cardiff City have lost one as new Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince takes a gamble and offers Fowler a deal at Ewood Park.

Fowler’s move represents a lack of respect for the club who stuck by him throughout his injury problems and to a manager and chairman who defended him at every opportunity.

This will be a relief to some Cardiff City fans with Fowler playing such a small part last year. His injury problems may not be behind him and he barely looked useful in appearances in the Championship last year.

The upshot is that we paid Fowler a great deal of money and got virtually nothing in return. He has stalled on signing the new contract, waiting for a better offer and now moves on having used Cardiff City for pre-season fitness.

Peter Ridsdale has confirmed a replacement will be found.

Yet again we learn that mere verbal commitments aren’t enough – first JFH and now Fowler [appropriate name isn’t it ..] .. you’ve got to get these grossly overpaid people to put pen to paper .. as time went on it was clear a problem existed and now it’s confirmed that Fowler just used us – I know what I’d like to see happen to him at Blackburn!

So was this a free transfer? what a *****er

  • bluebirdshroom says:

out of contract so yes, no fee involved.

Got me thinking, is it too late to re-sign Hasselbaink? With no Fowler, he is now important. He probally wouldn’t want to play for us anymore, in any case.

  • bluebirdshroom says:

Well no, in theory he should be in training but I think its too late now!

this could be a blessing i disguise, could you imagine if he stubbed his toe getting out of the bath and couldn’t play agian this season!! this should open the way for new young strike force, with people who have something to prove, get ched evans in and give him a chance!

16 games and a fortune payed out to him when we were in great financial difficulties.. I wonder how much a minite it cost us for playing time.Personally i am glad this non contributive money grabber is gone,Promised so much but gave very little back.
I Wonder how many games he will last at a more competative level, coz last time he was in the premier he did not play many games, thats why he dropped to us and no one else was really interested…unless you believes his agents words

I cant see him starting 5 games for Rovers, but then he seems happy to sit on the sides and take the paycheck

what a rich little *****. yeah i wish we still had jfh cause i dont see this ched evans thing working out. our strike force is fecked

  • bluebird04 says:

im actually glad we aint got fowler or jfh any more, look, half of the city fans was angry when we signed jfh and fowler, now they gone, people are moanin, we all know they was both flops, you could see it in their performances, so now we got a choice of a new strike force, and cause theres a huge decrease in wages paid out, we got more room for other players to strengthen differant areas where we was once in trouble
