Cardiff City new boy Robbie Fowler has spoken of his delight at finally choosing to sign for the Bluebirds.

Fowler’s reputation and finishing skills made him a target for a host of club’s but Cardiff City’s persistence and ambition paid off and Fowler opted for a 2 year deal in South Wales.

‘The most important thing for me is that when you look at Cardiff you see an ambitious club and a situation that is going to give me a real challenge.’ Fowler told the Western Mail.

‘I want to play regular football and achieve things, and Cardiff offer me that opportunity.

‘As a striker, you need that in order to be properly sharp in front of goal.

At 32, Fowler has dismissed talk of his age and fitness being a problem not and insists he is in good shape despite not taking part in Cardiff’s rigorous pre-season training.

Fowler’s capture could bring higher gates to Ninian Park and hopefully spur to Bluebirds to a more sustained promotion push in the coming season.
