Cardiff City’s new signing Robbie Fowler has told the Cardiff Post of his setermination to win a starting position for the Bluebirds, but knows he faces a tough task:

‘I’m not guaranteed a starting spot here. I’m going to fight for my place.’

‘I’m not to big to take to the bench either, if thats the manager’s decision.’

The former Liverpool FC hero will compete with MacLean, Feeney, Byrne and Green with possibly another striker incoming.

Fowler also spoke of his ambition and determination to emulate last season’s goalscoring hero:

‘Michael Chopra has gone and I’m here to step in and hopefully do as well as he did last season.’

Fowler has been prolific for one or Europe’s top clubs and has little to prove.
The last thing Cardiff City want is a stroppy has-been who stamps his feet upon being substituted. However it seems that Fowler’s hunger and determination is as strong as ever – good news for Cardiff City. We look forward to seeing a quality and determined player at Ninian Park in the coming weeks.
