A quick look at two (fairly) recently departed Cardiff City players suggests that they are enjoying their pastures new and, while neither will be remembered by Bluebirds fans as being anything of a goal threat – both experienced pros are finding the goals flowing recently.

Gabor Gyepes departed South Wales in order to joinj financially stricken Portsmouth as they were struggling even to field a starting XI. His experience and Championship pedigree, as well as being a Hungarian International, meant he was likely to be an important player for Pompey – though most would have predicted his impact as being in a defensive capacity?.

In fact, Gyepes has evolved into somewhat of a goalscoring machine on the South coast and has in fact scored in each of his last three league appearances. His goalscoring record since joining his new club is 3 in 6 games – a strike rate any striker would be happy with. Of course, there`s no indication that Gyepes will continue to score goals but since he needs only 1 more in his next 58 appearances to equal his record at Cardiff (4 in 64).

The fact is that 31 year old Gyepes has only 7 goals in his entire career, 3 coming in his last 3 games?.
