Former Cardiff City defender Gabor Gyepes has finally found a new club after agreeing a short term deal with debt-stricken Portsmouth. The South Coast side were forced to sell off all their first team players recently and are desperately short of players.

Gyepes was a City player for several years, doing well on occasions but never establishing himself as first choice. His finest moment was surely a ludicrous rugby tackle against Leicester City for which he was rightly red-carded but led to a hugely memorable rearguard action to protect a 1-0 lead – with a final back four of Capaldi and Quinn in the centre, Whitts and Burke as makeshift full-backs!

Gyepes fell out with Dave Jones, but was given a glimmer of hope when Malky Mackay came in but he became 6th choice centre-half behind Turner, Hudson, Gerrard, Blake and Keinan. He departed the club, but the experienced Hungarian had struggled to find a new home – best of luck to him at Portsmouth.
