Earnshaw ‘Maybe’ To Cardiff Return

Cardiff City were linked with a move for former favourite Robert Earnshaw earlier this season. That was rejected by Derby County, and indications were that Eanshaw was also not keen on the move.

Now however, Derby seem prepared to make a loss on the striker – who barely featured for them in their disasterous season.

Earnshaw made his name at Cardiff City, before switching to West Brom. He did score goals for the Baggies but fell out of favour before moves to Norwich and Derby County.

He has never realised the potential he showed and finds it hard to get regular action meaning a return to the Championship is most likely and the player himself has spoken on rumours of a possible return to Ninian Park. he told the SW Echo:

“People know what playing for Cardiff City meant to me and I need regular football to rekindle my international career.”

“The summer will be very interesting and returning to Cardiff does excite me.”

“We will have to see what happens in the summer but I`m not ruling out returning to Cardiff. Never say never is the saying and stranger things have happened in football, that`s for sure.”

Eanshaw has not been in good form, but we know what he was capable of. Most fans would welcome a return for a former favourite and pacy natural goalscorer. Thats exactly what we needed this season, and Earnie fits the bill.

Would you want him back, would he be the same player?
