Doubt over Loovens

Glenn Loovens is a doubt for Cardiff?s televised clash against Ipswich Town on Monday evening.

The Dutchman was replaced by veteran Neil Cox after suffering a groin strain in the second half against Brighton on Tuesday evening. He now faces a race to get fit in time for the Sky Sports cameras.

Darren Purse misses the game after picking up his fifth yellow card against Preston North End on Saturday.

Loovens and Purse have formed a solid central defensive partnership after both moving to the club in the summer. It would come as a big blow to the team if neither player is in the starting eleven.

Ipswich Town also have worries going into the game – they?ve only picked up one win in their last eight games. The Tractor Boys make the trip to Ninian Park after suffering a 3-0 hammering from new league leaders Reading.

‘I’ve got one more year left with Feyenoord, but I like Cardiff very much and I hope my future is here, I prefer the British way to the Dutch way. It’s more my style of playing and I’m really enjoying it. That’s why I made the decision to come here, because it’s more my style. I knew what British football was like because I’ve played against British teams.’
