Cardiff City fans have voted Dimi Konstantopoulos as the worst signing of recent times, ahead of the likes of Robbie ‘looking sharp’ Fowler who was narrowly beaten in second place.

The poll on this Vital Cardiff City website invited readers to select their pick for the worst of the Bluebirds and it was hapless loan goalkeeper Konstantopoulos, outstanding for Swansea City earlier in the campaign, who set the standard. He will forever be haunted by his disasterous dropped catch under no pressure when we were leading away at leaders Wolves.

Another gaffe followed as Dimi gifted a goal to David Mooney of relegation fodder Norwich City, then feigned injury to cover his gaffe!

The final standings were as follows:

Eddie Johnson 11%
Steve MacLean 3%
Dimi Konstantopoulos 38%
Tony Capaldi 3%
Robbie Fowler 36%
Simon Walton 3%
Warren Feeney 2%
A.N.Other 4%

It was a clear two horse race between Dimi, who only featured in a handful of games, and Robbie Fowler whose costly move to South Wales backfired spectacularly with the man nicknamed ‘God’ unable to regain fitness and struggling for any pace or impact.

Thankfully, Cardiff City fans have been treated to some excellent finds in recent years to more than compensate for these disappointments. The likes of Chopra, Roger Johnson, Glenn Loovens and Ross McCormack spring to mind while academy products Ramsey, Ledley and Adam Matthews have also been brilliant newcomers to the Bluebirds fold.
