‘Dangermouse’ Signs On At Cardiff City

Cardiff City have recieved another welcome boost with the news that Kevin McNaughton has committed his future to the club and agreed terms on an improved 3 year contract.

The Scottish defender has been superb since a free transfer move from Aberdeen, fastly becoming an important and consistent member of the team. His versatility is a huge asset and he plays comfortably on eiter side of defence as well as covering adequately at centre-back when required.

Unsuprisingly, McNaughton’s performances had attracted interest from the Premiership with several clubs keeping an eye on the negotiations. However, McNaughton, who recently broke back into the Scotland National Squad is happy with the ambition at the club and is prepared to stay.

At 25, Kev has his best years ahead and will surely play a big part in Cardiff City’s forthcoming season with the play-offs a realistic ambition. He joins midfielder Peter Whittingham in extending his contract while Roger Johnson, Robbie Fowler and Glenn Loovens are all in talks with Peter Ridsdale and Dave Jones.
