Chairman Mehmet Dalman has rubbished suggestions that he burst into the dressing room following the four nil defeat by Hull City.

Reports in the national press suggest that Dalman went into the dressing room following the defeat and cancelled the trip to Abu Dhabi in some sort of retaliation following the result.

There have been a few takes on this, some leading with the players being surprised, others talking about a ‘crisis’ meeting organised by our Chairman, but whilst he admits he did go into the dressing room to offer support to the manager and the players given everyone was down following the result, he also said he didn’t have to say a word himself because Ole was in the middle of his own speech.

Of course, in turn, that has now led some to suggest Ole gave the players the often cliched SirAlex ‘hairdryer’ treatment.

Dalman said.

‘I did go into the dressing room to support Ole and the boys, I didn’t say a single word about Abu Dhabi.’

It’s said that Dalman witnessed the outburst by OGS and one of the reasons he didn’t speak was because the gaffer was expressing his own view anyway.

The truth to this could well lie in the middle and I doubt we’ll ever know exactly what happened, but hairdryer or not, it was hardly unjustified following that performance and score line and a few home truths won’t have done anybody any harm if that was in fact the line Ole took.
