Cardiff City have within the last hour confirmed that striker Andreas Cornelius has returned to Danish club FC Copenhagen during the January transfer window.
Having joined us in the summer and not really adapted to life at the club or the league, especially with off pitch issues I doubt helping, and a weighty transfer fee of expectation sitting on his head, Copenhagen tweeted a few days back that they were in discussions to sign him.
Having played in 11 games for us without finding the net, he now moves on for an undisclosed fee, but no doubt the club will have taken a financial hit on the deal overall.
Despite it not working out, the club released the news along with the statement that they wish him the ‘best of luck’ back in Denmark.
