Cardiff City will be the opposition for Roy Keane`s first game in charge of Ipswich Town with one man in particular likely to be taking particular notice of the Tractor Boys change of manager.

Michael Chopra was a £5m signing for Roy Keane who took him from Cardiff City shortly before last season started. He scored a few goals, but found chances hard to come by and was eventually loaned out to Cardiff City by the former Manchester United star. Chops felt frozen out by Keane and despite returning briefly when Sbragia took over, he was again limited in chances and returned to the Bluebirds.

Chopra has always felt he could excel in the Premiership, and needed a prolonged run of games. That never came and he joined the long list of big money signings who hasn`t fulfilled their potential at the Stadium of Light.

Chopra has looked short of his menacing best in recent weeks and seems to be struggling with his re-curring heel injury. He wears a special boot insert and often has painkilling injections before playing. He would love to get back into form with a goal against his former manager,

  • … Chops usually gives his all – if Dave Jones selects him to start this Saturday he’ll run himself ragged for us .. we will need that sort of commitment – and a DIRECT approach – Jones should tell forwards and MIDFIELDERS : if you can SEE the bloody goal SHOOT! Please no more dinky let’s see if we can pass the ball into the goal stuff this Saturday!!

  • Well said gt, I couldnt have put it better myself!!!
This team will NEVER have a better chance to reach the “promised land”. Lets see you give 110% for your team lads!!!!!!!!!!!
