Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra is hopeful the ankle injury that saw him withdrawn during the second half against Burnley is just a knock and will not see him miss any further gametime.

Chopra scored the opener just before half time as he calmly collected Bothroyd’s cross and fired home. However, he was quiet during the second half and replaced by Craig Bellamy.

However, Chopra is not worried by the injury and revealed it was a precautionary move to substitute him with the quality available on the bench also a factor. He told WalesOnline:

‘I had to come off with a knock on my ankle, but I hopefully won`t be out for too long. it was more of a precaution.’

‘Anyway when you`ve got people like Craig Bellamy and Jason Koumas on the bench you know they can come on and give something.’

hopra provides better balance to the team than Bellamy in attack and is known for scoring goals in spells. After netting against Burnley, he will be hoping to kick-on and go on a scoring streak – starting on Saturday with the difficult trip to face Nottingham Forest.
