Former Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra has made a superb start to his career in East Anglia after netting twice in an emphatic 3-0 victory for Ipswich Town.

Chopra departed the Bluebirds for £1.5m over the summer after failing to settle last season. It was a blow to lose a hard-working and clinical finisher but many felt his offside problems had overshadowed his time back in South Wales and a new start was needed.

Chopra opened the scoring with a well placed shot from the edge of the area after collecting a pass from fellow ex-Bluebird Mark Kennedy. Winger Lee Martin doubled the lead before Chopra again found the net, converting a low Jon Stead cross to seal the win.

Ipswich’s impressive victory came against Bristol City who will be the first visitors to the CCS this season as we face them next weekend. Hopefully, a similar result will be possible for the Bluebirds.
