Michael Chopra was booked in the final moments of the draw with Nottm Forest, and following amendments to the suspension rules brought in this season – he will now miss the crucial derby clash against Swansea City.

While the loss of the top scorer, most expensive ever signing and terrace hero is bound to hurt Cardiff City, and create a worry ahead of the Jacks game – for the first time in a long time we are able to replace quality, with quality.

At no other time in recent years have the Bluebirds been able to suffer the loss of a top player, by bringing in Ross McCormack – himself a £4m rated striker, last season’s top scorer and a Scottish International.

Chopra has not scored in his last few games, and McCormack has had to be content with a place on the Bluebirds bench – the very position he did not want to endure during the run-up to this season.

Ross has barely featured this season, and will surely be a little short of match fitness. However, he has a good understanding with Bothroyd, loves to score goals and is itching for a first team return. This is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season to date, and what a chance for Rosco to make a dramatic and hopefully match-winning return.
