Former AWOL midfielder Jeff Whitley has made contact with the club and is negotiating an exit from Ninian Park before facing any further disciplinary action.

The player had failed to report for training and was not responding to club phone calls after being asked to find another club. Millwall and Rotherham made offers to the player but were rebuked after falling short of Whitley’s wage estimations.

Wrexham new boss Brian Carey has made an offer to Whitley to join the north Wales club on loan. The 31 year old has previosly played for Wrexham and made a good impression with the fans and obviously on Carey himsef who was playing for the Dragons at the time.

Any move is a good one for Whitley with him having limited first team prospects at Cardiff and his recent antics losing him the respect of Cariff staff and players.

Hopefully Jeff can do a good job in saving Wrexham from relegation and win himself a permanent contract.
