Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack limped off during the second half of our recent defeat to Wolves and we will miss him. The in-form Scotsman currently leads the division scoring charts with an impressive 11 goals so far.

The Actim index also recognises Ross’ importance to our side and he currently sits in 2nd place overall in the statistical tables – behind Kevin Doyle of Reading who has also bagged 11 goals. Doyle has 338 points while McCormack has accrued 322.

The index is compiled from complex analysis of every game taking into account all aspects of the game, performance and importance to the clubs. McCormack is in good company with Ebanks-Blake and Stephen Hunt close to his score and both valued significantly higher than the £100k we paid Motherwell just a few months ago.

With McCormack out for a month after suffering a hamstring problem – Cardiff Citty recruited former striker Michael Chopra back to the club to cover the absence. We know all about Chopra and he will be welcomed back by everyone at the club – Chops has his own reputation to live up to and some big boots to fill….
