Cardiff City’s talented left-sided player has been lined up by Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce as a potential signing.

Ledley has impressed with another good season for the Bluebirds and has shown maturity beyond his 21 years. Able to play at left-back or central midfield, he is primarily a left-sided midfield player and Bruce is looking to replace the released former-Cardiff player Julian Gray.

Ledley is a Cardiff boy, and has come through the Bluebirds ranks. He is seen as a key member of the Cardiff squad and was put on the ‘untouchables’ list by manager Dave Jones.

Nevertheless, every player has his price and is Cardiff were offered a big money deal – they may sell the talented youngster. Steve Bruce paid over the odds for Cameron Jerome and has money money at his disposal following the Blue’s promotion to the Premiership.

Although a Cardiff fan, Ledley may be tempted to link up again with Jerome in the Premiership. His Wales prospects would be helped by playing regularly at the highest level and Ryan Giggs’ International retirement leaves a big gap to fill.

Cardiff City will surely reject any bid under £2.5m for a proven player with great stamina, skill and age on his side.
