Cardiff City’s Joe Ledley made some key contributions to one of Wales’ greatest victories in recent memory.

John Toshack’s young side secured a fantastic 5-2 victory against a Slovakia side ranked 35 places above the Welsh.

Ledley formed an effective partnership with Tottenham Hotspur’s £10m man Gareth Bale on the left flank, the Cardiff youngster burst onto Bellamy’s pass and crossed for Freddie Eastwood to turn home.

Ledley also chipped a sublime pass forward for West Ham’s Bellamy to net his second, and Wales’ third before being withdrawn at half-time. An own goal, and a late Simon Davies strike completed the scoring for Wales and secured a good win for Wales.

Former Cardiff City players James Collins, Danny Gabbidon and Robert Eanshaw all featured in the game.
