Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has escaped a charge of disrepute following comments he made about Premiership referee Mark Clatternberg after the official took charge of Cardiff’s 1-0 win over Leeds last month.

Clattenberg sent off two Cardiff City players, Simon Walton’s second yellow for diving being an absurd decision.

Dave Jones made some strong allegations as to the referee’s suitablitity and commented:

‘If you are not good enough for the Premiership then you shouldn’t referee in the Championship.’

‘I hope he never refs us again because he tried everything in his power to give Leeds a helping hand,’

Cardiff City have been given little change by FAW panels in the past, but in this case they found the case against Jones ‘unproven’ and he will not face the touchline ban or fine that seemed almost certain.
