Cardiff City’s summer recruit from Plymouth Argyle, Tony Capaldi, has been forced to withdraw from the Northern Ireland International squad for their double header Euro 2008 qualifiers this week.
Capaldi missed a friendly for his nation recently but was fit to play for the Bluebirds and has started every league game this season. However, he aggrevated a strain in the 2-1 win over Norwich over the weekend and will again miss out on representing his country.
Capaldi now has almost 2 weeks to rest his thigh strain before Cardiff City’s next match and will hope to retain his place in the starting XI.

Thoughts on Capaldi so far? He’s done well i think, nothing fancy but no weak link
he’s ok, but more of a squad player id hav thought. mayB just settling down, but never gets forward and hardly notice him on pitch
always gets foward well he did with us, he aint a defender always backs out of challenges and doesnt close players down
Has he been a worthwhile signing for you then? Or do you think he will end up as a bench player covering LBack/LMid?
Done well so far, and we’ve only conceeded 3 in 6 games even wiv a dodgy keeper !!!
Might be good for Plymouth he is missing, as Cardiff’s next match is away to us.
oh no we’ll have to bring 2 goals in 2 games and England U21 International Peter Whittingham off the bench !! 😀
