Cardiff City’s young left back Joe Jacobson has left Cardiff City to join Bristol Rovers where he spent three months on loan last season and impressed. He also played at Accrington Stanley last season.

The 20 year old was highly regarded at Ninian Park and was captain of the reserves for a period. He made just 1 substitute appearance for Cardiff City in the league but played well in the Carling Cup game last season.

Jacobson also won 5 Wales U21 caps but was allowed to leave on a free transfer by Dave Jones. As he is under 24, The Bluebirds are due compensation for training the youngster. The amount is yet to be decided.

Jacobson links up with former manager Lennie Lawrence who he used to play under.
