” Stephen McPhail’s magic,

he wears his magic boots.

He plays for Cardiff City,

and starts off all their moves.

He passes up to Thompson,

and Chopra does the rest.

Another goal for Cardiff,

cos they’re the f**king best !”

Stephen McPhail has been an integral part of Cardiff City’s impressive season to date. His passing, and awareness have been a key feature in our style and his performances have been cultered, tidy and consistent.

But one thing is clearly missing from his game!

Despite starting virtually every Cardiff City league game (he served a 3 match suspension for a red card), McPhail has failed to find the net once this season.

Scimeca (5), Whittingham (4) and Parry (4)have all netted on a semi regular basis for Cardiff while Malvin Kamara and Willo Flood have each grabbed a goal apiece from substitute appearances yet McPhail has none to his name.

As a central midfield partnership, McPhail and Scimeca work well but it is Scimeca who is the more defensive minded of the two and site deeper while McPhail probes and tries to unlock the opposition defense. Of course his job is to create the goals but just a token contribution of a goal or two would be nice!!!

He does get forward, and he has had chances this season. McPhail was the primary free-kick taker until recently but didnt manage to find the net from any while Chopra, who took over the role, now has several. The majority of McPhail’s attempts on goal seem to have been chipped of clipped towards the target and have all been comfortably saved.

There is no doubt McPhail has the talent and technique to score goals like Petter Whittingham’s strike against Coventry or the equaliser this week at Southampton. McPhail just seems to lack confidence in his shooting.

All City fans are looking forward to McPhail’s first goal fot the club, it could turn out to be the winner in the play-off final yet – let’s just hope there’s one soon to cap an impressive first season for the Irishman.

there’s luck and then there’s a complete waste of a ball. Our Stevie would pass from a penalty !!

you’d think the odd tap in or deflection might have happened though!

McPhail and Thommo can both take a lot of credit for Chopra’s goals this season
