Cardiff City play hot to visitors Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow looking to extend a fantastic festive period with another win.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently in 19th place, just one point above the relegation places and only a New Year’s Day win against bottom club Preston has kept them out of the drop-zone.
The finished last season in fine form, and harboured hopes of a play-off place this time around but are currently stuck at the wrong end of the table, and with little form to speak of.
Away form is clearly a problem and you have to go back to 3rd November for their last win away from Hillsborough. they have been drawing some on their travels but 4 points from 18 away from home remains a poor return.
That said, they are hard to beat and have been improved at home recently including a 5-0 win over Southampton earlier in the season. Despite that, goals remain a serious problem for the Owls and with just 4 in 6 games, they need a proven goalscorer if they are to challenge.
Glenn Whelan has attracted serious interest recently and looks one of the best midfielders in the division. Crisp passing and good tenascity mark him as a stand-out player while in Jeffers, Tudgay and Yoann Folly they have players with a real threat on their day.
Cardiff by contrast are in their best form of the season. 10 points from a possible 12 have propelled us up the league table and impressive wins over Sheffield United and Plymouth at home, without breaking into 4th gear, mean they go into the game full of confidence.
Chris Gunter has left the squad, along with loan keeper Kasper Schmeichel. However, Peter Enckelman has been drafted in as goalkeeping cover and as yet, the rest of the squad remains at Ninian Park despite strong interest in Capaldi, Purse, Parry, Ramsey, McPhail, Thompson and most notably Joe Ledley.
Cardiff look strong and whilst Sheffield Wednesday are often a good bet for a draw, Vital Cardiff sees this result in favour of the soaring Bluebirds. A 2-0 win is on the cards for Cardiff City, other fans seem to agree….

Going to be a close game as we are a far better side away from home. Macca could be a factor if he starts against his old club, thats if he can stay on the pitch long enough!! Going for a 2-1 win for us Owls, if not a 2-2 draw!
