Cardiff Transfer Speculation Denied

Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale has been an exceptionally busy man of late. After securing the new stadium deal, he has been searching high and low for quality, affordable players to bring into the club.

On top of this, he has found the time to dismiss numerous reports linking the club to players. Despite the unwritten rule at Ninian Park beeing to keep quiet about transfers until the ink is dry – Risdale has been particularly vocal of late and can be quiet smug that no-one seems to know the players he is in talks with.

The latest rumours dismissed by ‘PR Pete’ include Scottish midfielders Gavin Rae (Rangers) and Peter Leven (Kilmarnock). The Wales On Sunday reported that Craig Beattie could be on his way to Ninian Park from Celtic but that has also been denied by the club.

In addition to reports linking Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jon Parkin, the latter mentioned by a reliable source and covered by BBC Sport.

It seems that the media and fans will be put out of their misery soon, with the signing of a goalkeeper and a striker imminent and expected sometime this week.
