Cardiff to feed ‘The Horse’ ?

Cardiff City are being linked with a January transfer approach for journeyman striker Geoff Horsfield.

Dave Jones is known to be in the market for at least one striker but the repeated links with Horsfield are raising eyebrows and doubts amongst City fans. With the aged warhorse Kevin Campbell already on the books and yet to impress in any of his sppearances, it is not experience City need but a young, fresh player who can add impetus and change the game for Cardiff.

Rotherham’s Will Hoskins and Rowan Vine are both suitable but unlikely to join but Horsfield is out of favour at Sheffield United and has had his recent loan spell with Leeds United terminated after failing to impress.

With Glombard, Feretti and Campbell already back-up, the last thing we need is another striker whom we cannot turn to when the goals dry up, as is the case now without a win in 10 games but several recent goalless draws which Cardiff should have taken all three points.

We have to trust Dave Jones given the remarkable job he hasdone so far, and he has not mentioned Horsfield thus far but if thats the player we are looking to for depth then it doesnt bode well for a promotion push this year, or, to have players under the age of 35 next season!
