Cardiff Target Unaware Of Interest

The South Wales Echo today reported that striker Jon Parkin was a transfer target for both Cardiff City and Stoke City.

The player himself has now spoken and revealed he will not be a Hull City player for long. He expects to join Stoke City in the near future and hopes to finalise the move next week.

However, ‘The Beast’ as he is know has NOT had talks with Cardiff City, despite persistent rumours and reports. Parkin had heard of interest but always favoured a move to Stoke after spending a successful loan period at the Brittania Stadium last season.

Parkin told The Sentinal:

‘Everything is more or less sorted and I don’t anticipate any problems now. To be honest, I’m just looking forward to getting cracking again after the break.’

‘It was reported that Cardiff were interested, but how much truth there was in that I was never sure.’

Looks like another player we’ve missed out on, but it may be that we never held any strong interest in the player.

Cardiff continue to search for a big striker to partner Chopra, but it looks certain that Jon Parkin will not be a Bluebird next season.

Dean Windass will be moving on – to an old people’s home soon enough

Think Parkin would have been good for us actually, big and ugly but would get goals and bully defences

I agree Aderyn Las he would dominate defences, and your scoresheet would certainly improve with him at your club.
